ATS condition monitoring experts at the Reliability 360® Technology Center were alerted to significantly high vibrations coming from a carriage drive motor at the wire and cable manufacturer’s facility. The critical and warning alerts triggered by the platform alongside the analysis of the vibration data from the two-channel vibration sensor indicated potential misalignment.
Proactive solution
The on-site ATS maintenance team performed several recommended actions provided by ATS condition monitoring experts to identify the issue. After examining the belt for wear, performing a precision alignment check and inspecting the motor’s base for structural integrity, ATS technicians confirmed the misalignment issue. The team realigned the belt and tightened the bolts at the motor’s base for proper torque, resolving the issue.
