Advanced Technology Services Receives Top Honors at South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Safety Awards Event
Eight ATS facilities throughout South Carolina recognized for top performance and superior safety records
GREENVILLE, SC (March 16, 2010) —Advanced Technology Services’ (ATS) dedication to safety and high-quality performance was formally recognized at today’s South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Annual Safety Awards luncheon in Columbia, SC. Eight ATS facilities throughout the state were honored for their top safety records maintained in 2009 including:
- Advanced Technology Services - CAT Greenville Facility
- Advanced Technology Services - Eaton Duncan Facility
- Advanced Technology Services - Eaton Sumter Facility
- Advanced Technology Services - Eaton Hydraulic Greenwood Facility
- Advanced Technology Services - Eaton North Charleston Facility
- Advanced Technology Services - CAT Newberry Facility
- Advanced Technology Services - AO Smith McBee Facility
- Advanced Technology Services - Honeywell Spartanburg Facility
ATS, a provider of outsourced production equipment maintenance, recorded zero safety incidents at the eight plants, as measured by regulations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
“Safety has been a global focus for our employees as we operate in plants throughout the U.S. and abroad,” said Jeff Owens, ATS president. “In fact, ATS’ program called ‘Live Safety’ is designed to help achieve the government’s goals to increase worker safety and improve workplace operations.”
According to ATS, this proactive, comprehensive safety program was designed to help companies develop, implement and maintain state-of-the-art safety programs and will assist companies in eliminating unsafe working conditions, reducing injuries and improving manufacturing operations as a whole.
“Safety is a state of mind, and it requires ongoing training and follow-up to identify gaps and sustain successful safety programs,” said Owens.
ATS’ Live Safety program is based around four core elements including management leadership and employee participation, hazard identification and assessment, hazard prevention control and safety training. The program’s strategy stems from a cultural goal within ATS to a zero incident environment in all workplaces and takes a company’s current injury reduction efforts to the next level by guiding them in creating an incident-free culture.
“We are committed to helping our customers’ factories run better with zero safety incidents,” said Owens. “People are the number one assets in a company, so why not make the investment to keep them safe?”
ATS has advanced tracking tools to ensure worksite analysis is consistent and that items identified during health and safety surveys, inspections and investigations are tracked to closure. Under the program, ATS employees also work to ensure customer and regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.
The Chamber of Commerce’s Safety Awards program is designed to recognize companies and their employees who had commendable records during the year. The Chamber honored ATS and other winners of the 2009 Safety Awards at a luncheon meeting Tuesday at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Columbia.
