ATS Honored With 2005 Manufacturing Leadership Award for Best Practices
November 18, 2005, Asheville, NC and Peoria, IL

Advanced Technology Services, Inc., (ATS), the industry leader in managed services for production equipment maintenance, industrial parts repair and IT infrastructure support for manufacturers, has been awarded the 2005 Manufacturing Leadership Award for Best Practices by the Asheville, NC Area Chamber of Commerce, the Manufacturers Executive Association and ABTech Community College, jointly with Eaton Electrical of Asheville, NC.

ATS has helped improve plant operations at the Eaton Corporation Electrical Group in Asheville through its production machine maintenance services. The award recognizes the team's joint efforts to improve overall machine effectiveness. The ATS/Eaton Electrical team received a four star award, the highest level granted in the competition, which recognizes the initiation of the improvement project, the improved results achieved, the surpassing of customer expectations, as well as the replication of the improvements achieved.

"We are delighted to be recognized in partnership with our colleagues at Eaton Electrical," said Jeffrey Owens, President of ATS. "This recognition is a direct reflection of our commitment to provide truly superior service, and we are proud to be included among this distinguished group."

Among the many impressive results achieved through the project, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for YTD 2005 averaged 88.9%, exceeding the goal measure of 72%. The team also saw an increase in employee ownership and accountability, as well as an improvement in on time delivery due to reduced down time.

ATS pioneered the factory asset service business two decades ago, and today is the leading company providing managed services for production equipment maintenance, industrial parts repair and IT infrastructure support for manufacturers. Key to ATS' success is a recruitment and training program that fulfills the need for a skilled workforce. ATS' white paper, Workforce Trends: Tools for taking control of today's skilled labor shortage, provides guidance on what companies can do to avert the skilled workforce crisis.
