The Award became international in scope in 2000, with entries from businesses based in Canada, Mexico and the United States. "This award is truly an honor for us at ATS, and belongs to each of our 1,100 employees," said ATS President Jeffrey Owens. "ATS' most valuable asset is our reputation for integrity. We raise the performance bar not only for our customers, internally among all employees, with our investors, suppliers and the community." As part of the selection process, ATS was evaluated on its company code and business conduct policies, examples of service and achievement awards the company received from customers, and management's involvement in industry, trade groups and the community that relate to business ethics and conduct.
