How much will this program cost?
Students will be responsible for the cost of tuition for the program. Tuition is $75 per semester hour with 42 semester hours associated with the program. Books and lab fees will be paid for by ATS. However, books will be returned at the end of each course.

I am not a resident of Illinois. Will I be charged a higher tuition fee?
No. All students enrolling in the ATS program will qualify for the in-state tuition fee. The fee is $75 per semester hour.

Is financial aid available?
GI Bill and financial assistance are available through the financial aid office at Illinois Central College. For more information on grant programs, scholarships and financial aid, click on ICC Financial Aid

Will I receive a degree after the program?
No. This is a certification program. You will receive an Occupational Certificate for Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance from Illinois Central College.

Are there college credits given for these courses?
Credits accrued in this certificate program can be applied towards a two-year Associate's Degree in Industrial Electrical Technology.

How long does the program last?
Program duration is approximately 40 weeks.

How many days per week will I be in class?
Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, eight hours per day.

Will I get hands-on training with this program?
Yes. The program consists of classroom lectures as well as hands-on training and lab work.

Will I be guaranteed a job at the completion of the program?
It is the intent of ATS to provide full-time employment to those individuals who successfully complete the program and display all of the desired cultural traits, professionalism and motivation to support our customers.

What are the eligibility requirements to participate in the program?
A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Applicants must provide an official transcript(s) for high school and post high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable.

Applicants will be subject to testing focused on mechanical aptitude and applied math. These tests determine the potential to be successful in the program.

Applicants should be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the program without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. Qualified candidates will meet the physical demands/work environment essentials listed within the Associate Maintenance Technician job description.

The image portrayed by the ATS workforce is very important to us. All applicants must posses a high level of professional appearance to be accepted and to maintain eligibility in the ATS program.

The student will be financially responsible for the program's tuition and must complete all required training.

There will be student expectation requirements regarding academic performance, classroom behavior, attendance, tardiness, professional image and safety.
